A geometric study translating the parabolic form through the 09 Collection system—using only straight lines to create the perception of a continuous curve.

09 — SHAPE is part of the 09 Collection, a body of work developed through a set system of numbers, angles, and proportions. The collection uses recurring forms and sculptural expressions as a framework for exploring dimension, perspective, structure, and the relationships created between them.

09 — SHAPE applies that system to an ongoing exploration of the parabola within Griffin Loop’s practice. Constructed entirely from straight lines, the individual elements shift incrementally in orientation to produce the perception of a continuous curve. The work explores the relationship between geometry and perception—how a rigid system of straight lines can produce a form the eye reads as fluid and curved.
